Robotic platform for remote in-service floor inspection of hazardous petrochemical storage tanks
NEPA is a compact, intrinsically safe robotic inspection system designed for above-ground storage tanks, enabling in-service inspection without the need for tank drainage, vapour purging or human entry into confined spaces.
The system is engineered to operate fully submerged in oil and within explosive atmospheres. It enters through standard tank manways and navigates across the tank floor to access areas that are difficult, hazardous or costly to inspect using conventional methods.
NEPA integrates ultrasonic testing capability with onboard navigation and position tracking to capture wall-thickness and corrosion data. This data is combined with location referencing to support accurate post-processing, reporting and asset integrity assessment.
